I want some place to talk exclusively about my LOVE AFFAIR, with the Queen of Flowers; The Rose!! I only discovered this 'amourance,' 7 years ago - and I've been growing roses and learning about them, ever since. I have other plants in my gardens but my roses are the highlight.
I want to talk about specific plants, how they're displaying during the growing season, how they die back, what the weather conditions are doing and how it's affecting "my girls."
I've taken photographs over the years but I have only recently acquired a digital camera, so I will 'go crazy' when the Roses come into bloom in September. It's Autumn now and they are winding down for the winter sleep. One thing, I do NOT like Standard hybrid plants which need to be fussed over and catered to. My all time favourites are Ramblers, then Floribundas, Bush and Climbers. My husband likes miniatures, but I don't have the patience to fuss over such tiny plants which don't have the toughness of it's bigger siblings. I also want to post photographs of my roses, (well, they have to be photos of my plants, because posting someone elses would be thievery, wouldn't it??!!
And we don't want that!!
My name is Emmi, I'm 53 years old married to Dees who is 39 and manages a Dairy Farm with 200 cows. We live in Taranaki - Aotearoa-New Zealand, the area is named after the lone mountain, which I will post pictures of. Four miles to the west of us, is the Tasman sea, and 20 miles to the east, lies the mountain.
Dees and I have been married 12 years, though we've been together for 14 years - and we have 3 adult children from one of my previous marriages.(2 others.) We are looking to build our own home on the West coast of the Lower North Island of Aotearoa-NZ, in the South Pacfic.
